At Bella Vista Hotel & Studios, we like to give you the full cultural experience. That’s why you’ll be invited to our Greek breakfast buffet every morning where we serve freshly cooked Greek specialities, as well as homemade orange and lemon cakes that use fresh oranges and lemons from our own Bella Vista gardens.

TRADITIONAL GREEK BREAKFAST

WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US FOR A ONE-OF-A-KIND TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST SERVED FRESH EACH MORNING IN THE BELLA CAFÉ.
The breakfast is served buffet style and features home-made seasonal dishes, pies, salads, and yogurt. The breakfast buffet is normally included in room prices from May 1st until October 30th. Guests may enjoy their breakfast in the café or on our sunny patio.

Guests may choose from an array of homemade Greek cuisine such as traditional Greek pies, freshly baked breads, sweet cakes, fruit and vegetable salads, creamy yogurt, sliced ham, cheese, cereals, a selection of chilled juices, and freshly brewed tea or coffee.

TRADITIONAL DISHES

Our dedicated chef takes pride in the home-made dishes. They are prepared fresh each morning to the delight of our guests. Traditional Greek pies which are frequently featured in the buffet are: Spanakopita: a sour pastry consisting of spinach, dill, and various other seasonal ingredients, wrapped up in filo pastry. It’s one of the best Mediterranean breakfast ideas for delivering an authentic taste of the region. Bougatsa: a sweet cream pie made with semolina (a coarse ground wheat), sugar, milk, eggs, all wrapped in filo pastry and glazed with icing sugar and cinnamon. Tiropita: a cheese pie made with different varieties of cheese, mainly soft feta cheese, wrapped in filo pastry. Seasonal pies: usually sour pies made of courgette or leek or aubergine and tomatoes or other classic Mediterranean ingredients. The ingredients for these pies are subject to seasonal availability.

GREEK BREAKFAST

Our traditional Greek breakfast is normally served each morning in the Bella Café between the hours of 7:30 am and 10:30 am. All delicacies are prepared onsite for the enjoyment of our guests, and to provide our visitors with an authentic taste of Greece. Our buffet menu is dependent on local availability of produce therefore certain menu items are not always available. OUR BUFFET MENU

CRUMBLED FETA CHEESE
Feta cheese is a staple in Greek cuisine. The crumbly white cheese can be used in pies, on bruschetta, or on its own as an addition to salads. Drizzle a little olive oil over a Greek salad with feta cheese and you’ll create your own little veggie heaven.
GREEK YOGURT
A Greek breakfast isn’t complete without Greek yogurt. That’s why all of our buffets are served with hot foods on the right, and mixed fruit and Greek yogurt on the left. We have a range of sweet and savoury foods on offer, meaning you can make your Greek yogurt breakfast whichever way you like.
SPINACH PIE
Spanakopita is a tasty feta cheese and fresh spinach pie that is commonly eaten in a Greek breakfast. You’ll find it at all the local bakeries, but we don’t think there’s any that beats our homemade spinach pie.
BOUGATSA
A delicious sweet pastry topped with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, bougatsa is common in Greek breakfasts. Other countries in the Balkans have their own versions – but none are quite as tasty as in Corfu!
TIROPITA
A mouth-watering cheese pastry, tiropita takes the taste of feta cheese to the next level. It’s a truly delicious dish to try when you come for your Greek breakfast.
PUFF PASTRY PIES
We have a number of puff pastry pies on offer most mornings. From the spinach pie mentioned above, to some of our own homemade inventions, you’re sure to find something you like. Our puff pastry filled with cream cheese is a delicious treat for when you need a big smile at breakfast time. Some of our homemade pies are topped with sesame seeds, another custom of Greek breakfasts.
GREEK RICE PUDDING
If you’re more of a sweet tooth, Greek rice pudding might be the ideal Greek breakfast for you. We regularly include this traditional Greek food in our buffet and the guests love it!
GREEK OLIVE OIL
It wouldn’t be a traditional Greek breakfast without some Greek olive oil, would it? Drizzle a little over your warm breakfast to help the flavour burst through. This is the true way to experience Greek culture.
FRESH TOMATOES
Not just any old tomatoes, our fresh tomatoes are Greek-grown in the Corfiot sun and soil. These delicious tomatoes work well with all our other options. We sometimes offer gorgeous cherry tomatoes instead of the regular-sized ones too.
SUN-DRIED TOMATOES
It isn’t every day that we have sun-dried tomatoes in our Greek breakfast, but when they do appear, they’re always a hit. They’re the perfect simple recipe to bring Mediterranean flair to breakfast time.
FRESH GREENS
Quite often, we have a plate full of fresh roasted veggies. They taste amazing and make for a great side dish to some of our heavier breakfast foods.

GREEK COFFEE
When in Greece, nothing quite makes you feel like a local than ordering a Greek coffee. At Bella Vista’s Greek breakfast buffet, your Greek coffee is included.
GREEK OMELETTE
Greek omelette is relatively similar to the omelette you love and cherish back home. Only imagine fresh Corfiot ingredients and eating it under the Greek sun with friendly smiles and joyful kalimeras.
BOILED OR SCRAMBLED EGGS
While we’re full of unique Mediterranean breakfast foods, there are some staples that are common all over the world. We serve boiled eggs every morning, while scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and baked eggs appear occasionally.
GREEK-STYLE BREAD
A Greek breakfast wouldn’t be complete without bread. While a bread ring is typically served in Greek homes, we offer sliced Greek baguettes that we purchase from the local bakery on the morning of the breakfast. They’re delivered to us straight from the oven!
FRESH FRUIT
From watermelon to grapes, peaches to strawberries, we have a large tub of mixed fresh fruit every single morning. Spoon sweet fruits into a bowl and have them with Greek yogurt, honey, or both!
GREEK HONEY
Whether you want to add a drop to your tea, or drizzle it over your fruit salad and Greek yogurt, honey is an essential part of any Greek breakfast.
PANCAKES
While not stereotypically Greek, who doesn’t love pancakes for breakfast? On occasion, we’ll make fresh pancakes and offer them with melted chocolate, bananas, or other toppings.
LEMON CAKE
Baked fresh with lemons plucked from the Bella Vista garden, our lemon cakes never fail to make waves.
ORANGE CAKE
Similar to the lemon cakes, our orange cakes are homemade. If you’re lucky, you might get one when they’re still warm from the oven.
CHOCOLATE CAKE
Our chocolate cake recipe has been coveted for years. It’s a scrumptiously soft sponge with a delightfully chocolaty crust on top.
GREEK DELICACIES
We often offer a small dish of certain Greek delicacies too. Some examples are:
MOUSSAKA
Layers of sliced aubergine and minced meat, topped with a creamy béchamel sauce. This traditional Greek dish is typically served as a dinner, but we’ve found that our guests love heavier breakfast foods so we decided to offer them on our Greek breakfast too. No one has been disappointed yet.
SOFRITO
A local Corfiot dish that is overflowing with flavour, sofrito is a garlic-based dish with soft boneless veal. The fresh ingredients and herbs used in this dish will make the veal melt in your mouth. Another Greek dish that’s served hot as a main meal at local restaurants, sofrito is occasionally served at breakfast so that guests can get a taste of our local cuisine.
PASTITSIO
Think of Pastitsio as a combination between moussaka and lasagne. It’s a Greek pasta dish made in layers with ground meat and topped with béchamel sauce. Add a portion to your plate next time you have a Greek breakfast with us.
PASTITSADA
Another Greek pasta dish, pastitsada is composed of delicious pasta in a drool-worthy tomato sauce accompanied by large chunks of tender beef or veal. Traditionally, pastitsada is made with rooster. Expect to fall in love if you try this dish at Bella Vista breakfast.

WHAT SETS OUR GREEK BREAKFAST APART?

While we don’t tend to offer too much in the way of grilled meats (like the British with sausage and bacon), we do offer a wide range of different types of foods as well as different flavours. We try to give our guests a real chance to taste the cuisine of our culture, especially our little home in Benitses, Corfu. We’re big on fresh ingredients and homemade pies. We love our bread, eggs, and black olives, but we also have plenty of low-carb options, including fresh fruits and veggies.
